Following the success of the Choose Love store in Soho, Help Refugees has teamed up with the incredible Imad Alarnab, who arrived in London from Damascus in 2015 and has since been delighting the capital with his traditional Syrian cooking, hosting sell-out supper clubs and dreaming of setting up his own restaurant. All money raised at his latest pop-up kitchen will go to Hope Hospital, a paediatric facility in the Aleppo region that serves a community of over a quarter of a million people. It became the first every crowd funded hospital in 2016, providing incubators for new-born babies, treatment for pregnant and postnatal women and lifesaving operations for those injured in the brutal civil war. Want to help fight to keep the hospital open? Just put yourself in the Help Refugees and Imad’s capable hands as they rustle up a three-course dinner served at family-style sharing tables. The talented chef says, “From the day I left Syria until today, I wanted to use my cooking to bring people together to experience the true taste of Syria. This restaurant is about giving something back; to the people of Britain who have welcomed me; and to the people of Syria who really need our help right now.” The run has been extended for another month, but tickets are selling like piping hot falafel. Go go go!
