Going Underground to Somerset House. For the very first time, all three mod-revival-punk-rocking members of The Jam have opened up their personal archives for a comprehensive exhibition of the band, documenting their journey from Surrey to Superstardom. The jam-packed show is curated by Paul Weller’s sister Nicky, who ran the band’s fan club during the height of their fame. The collection includes previously unseen images and footage, scrapbooks, hand written lyrics, stage outfits, letters, memorabilia and instruments, offering a unique and personal insight into the band’s life in the 70’s and 80’s. Arguably more importantly, the show celebrates the story of three men who gave voice to a generation, and their subsequent influence on music, style, politics and culture. Now that’s entertainment.
