L Manze – the east London pie shop with Grade II listed status – is being transformed by night into the Jellied Eel. The pop-up – every Friday and Saturday evening until Christmas – is a venture by locals Paul Jellis and Charlie Westover. Authentic, Spanish croquetas (we like the colour-coded sticks to distinguish different flavours) will be served alongside winter-inspired cocktails. Our faves? Chorizo, Iberico and wild spinach & garlic, alongside the Lapland Negroni (an inventive take on the original with aquavit, Pedro Ximénez and Campari) and Dunes by the Cape, a rum-based libation. The dimly lit art-deco space is full of character, whilst the eclectic soundtrack creates a fun atmosphere.
