Described by Harry Connick Junior as “the greatest”, Leroy Jones is a legendary jazz trumpeter who started his career at the age of 12 and who regularly appears on The Tonight Show, Oprah Winfrey and Conan O’Brien. WIth a style described as a mix between Louis Armstrong and Clifford Brown, Leroy’s bringing his own brand of the very best traditional New Orleans jazz to the UK for his first major tour here this year and, lucky London, he’s playing five nights in a row downstairs at Dean Street’s Pizza Express jazz club. You’ll find him and his quintet on stage from 23rd – 27th Oct, joined by UK vocalist Ian Shaw, who’s often described as our finest singer. It would be a crime not to catch this.
