There are a lot of types of love, and this week The Love Project steps away from a stage solely lit with sap and romance to explore all its myriad forms. Their small, four-strong team of actors explore the lives of 16 people in an award-winning play. Made up of real-life accounts of experiences of love, it follows on from a hugely successful Edinburgh debut in 2013. The team describe some of the tales thus: “Cora and Bill were married in 1956 and still remember the smell of the old Citroën that Bill proposed in; Kate bought a house with her fiancé only to split up a few months later but still has expectations for Valentine’s Day; Myles found himself dangling from a rooftop in pursuit of love; and Imke is still waiting”. Created from interviews, it’s documentary-like and truthful. The Love Project paints an ultimately heart-warming human picture of the people we meet, the feelings we have, and the unique lives we all lead. ‘The fuzzies’, but not as expected.
