Gentle mortals, thespians, dreamers and little imps – The Faery Queen Titania beseechs you.
‘Why might that be?’ you coo. Because Titania and friends would like you to join them in their Faery Den and help them prepare for a spectacular Midsummer Celebration.
This Sunday afternoon at Forster Memorial Park and the following Sunday at Folkstone Gardens, Teatro Vivo invites you to an interactive and theatrical summer festivity. A Midsummer Faery Den is inspired by Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream and promises to bring all of Shakespeare’s magic and mischief to life. So gather around your merry instruments and drop off your finest faery attire at the drycleaners, before you prepare to descend into an enchanted realm.
In this fantastical afternoon, learn how to make Titania’s faery crown – so thou art as wise as thou art beautiful. Write songs and poems with Oberon that would make Shakespeare proud, get swept up in Cobweb’s stupendously spun stories and take centre stage in a performance of the tragic tale of Pyramus & Thisbe, with some rather curious actors at hand.
The Faery Den is a free event, funded by Lewisham Council. Adults, children, pixies and donkeys are all welcome.
