It’s impossible to be a fan of 80s slasher movies and not have heard of knife-gloved, pizza-faced, sleep-bothering murderer Freddy Krueger. If you remember the halcyon days of quaking under the duvet too scared to slumber, then relive those sleepless nights at the Prince Charles Theatre for a Nightmare On Elm Street marathon. Yes, that’s seven movies, meaning over eight hours of gore-filled fun, and also seeing a young Johnny Depp in his first ever film role. Krueger’s appearance in 1984 marked the introduction to one of the most iconic movie monsters ever to grace our screens, causing nightmares for a whole generation (and their kids who watched from behind the sofa). Just don’t nod off when the lights go down….
