I’ve been keeping an eye on Selin. And not in a creepy stalker kind of way: don’t worry, I don’t know where she lives or if she takes milk in her tea. But, I have noticed she is one of the most exciting chefs currently working in London. Until recently, she was head chef at London restaurant Kopapa and won a number of prestigious awards for young chefs. But since the beginning of this year, she has been touring London with her very own pop-up restaurant Trinkets. Her signature dishes – inspired by her Turkish Cypriot heritage and her travels around the world – are all about sharing. Small, delicate plates enjoyed with friends and family and plenty to drink is the winning formula. With a more permanent Haggerston residency in the pipeline for September, this is her last Trinket pop-up. Promising a real summer feast, complete with pistachio crusted cod, twice cooked beef short rib and Caravan coffee to finish, it’s one not to miss.
