There’s an empty lodge in the Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, and the excellent Shuffle Festival have their eye on it. The diverse and community-oriented festival with film, science, music and performance programming, have used it ad hoc, and are now keen to re-invent the lodge permanently as a community hub, cafe and workshop space. This night sees the lodge turn pop-up party to support the crowd-funding campaign. Expect a BBQ, bar, rip-roaring 20s/30s from swing band Gertie and her Gaiety, DJ Ro$$ Kemp, and short film screenings. Come raise your glasses and burgers, fling someone around the dance floor, and peep a short in support of a wonderful and important community cause. How’s that for a Friday night?
