This is the easiest Le Cool article we’ve ever had to write. It’s an amazing film festival in a disused psychiatric ward backed by Danny Boyle. Job done. Consequently, Shuffle Festival is comprised of an awful lot of Danny Boyle films, which is no bad thing. Find Elephant Man, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, and a decent mix of neatly curated films taking you through to some more obscure recommendations. With each film night followed up with DJs and music up until midnight each night, we’re sold. The one unmissable moment we’re going down for is the Day of the Mind. Held in the historic grounds of once psychiatric hospital, St Clement’, the free Fete Day takes time to incorporate some science into the festivities. With support from the Wellcome Trust and bringing in elements of the Barbican’s Wonder: Art and Science on the mind you can investigate an interactive brain stall, take a sonic tour, or build a brain.
