Here’s one for those who still believe live music can change the world. SoundCheck put on an intimate performance of music in its rawest form this Friday, with entire ticket sale profit going to charity ChildHope. In a series of 20-minute acoustic sets, UK artists including Alice Russell and Gideon Conn will perform completely stripped back and un-amplified, taking full advantage of the church’s beautiful acoustics. With nothing but a church organ, a baby grand piano, a string section, and an all female choir to accompany them, each performer will perform in a style they wouldn’t normally. This night would be a total one-off were it not set to become a regular thing.
