Hackney has welcomed a new kid on the market block, and no ordinary one at that. Enter the State of Independence Market, lovingly curated by cultural journal Let’s Be Brief. A high-quality/vibes blend of exciting emerging creative brands, tasty street tucker, drinks, music, art and workshops. Traders include street wear vintage & rare kick providers No Licence, prints from heavyweight illustrator Clayton Junior, and vibrantly hued textiles from Gaynor Junior. Flavours include Colombian Street Kitchen, Caribbean tucker from Reggae Britannia, Japanese x American comfort food from SukiDawg and punch galore at the Rum Bar. Sonic waves will emanate from the Dimensions Soundsystem (diverse underground beats) and CDR (electronic pioneers), going back-to-back. There’ll also be free life coaching from Fiona Buckland of the School of Life (12-3pm, sign up in advance). A sweet summer spot to kick back in and soak up the outdoor shopping x festival vibes; on the last weekend of every month until September.
