There’s something very fitting about The Staves, a trio of musically gifted sisters from Watford, holding a Christmas concert (this Saturday at EartH, formerly Hackney Arts Centre). The holiday is all about family, after all – and their beautiful three-part harmonies should spice up some festive classics, if they so choose to try them out.
They’ve also just released their first Christmas tune, which is about unrequited love and Home Alone – and is tiding us over as we await their next full length project (their great 2014 sophomore effort, If I Was, was produced by Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon).
I can’t think of a better way to welcome the thick of the festive period.
