I’m never not blown away by artists performing spoken word. Their rhythms, diction, memory and balls for standing up there are always so impressive and powerful. And for the next two weeks you can immersive yourself in all things spoken word, storytelling and performance poetry as The Roundhouse kicks off London’s first ever spoken word festival. Highlight’s of The Last Word include performances of the Ted Hughes Award winning and magnificently talented, Kate Tempest‘s debut play ‘Wasted’, as well as Bang Said The Gun pitting performance poets against each other, the world’s first purpose-built mobile poetry emporium offering free, made-to-order poems, Huw Stephens’ celebration of spoken word in music and many workshops and classes for you to participating. This will be inspiring.
