I’m sorry, I just can’t write this in that Scottish brogue that is expected of this type of thing. I can’t wangle the word ‘lassie’ into my piece, and I definitely can’t say ‘wee’. Luckily there are many other ways to embrace Scottish culture.

The Queen of Hoxton is opening up its rooftop winter wigwam to Scottish poetry enthusiasts and plain old whiskey guzzling tag-alongs for a night celebrating literary great Robbie Burns. The man addressed a poem to a haggis. If that isn’t commitment to a stereotype, then I don’t know what is. Ticket holders will enjoy live fiddle music while tasting an array of Glenfiddich whiskeys.
