You’ve gone jogging along it, searched for treasures by it, some of you may have even gone rowing on it. Now is the time to party with it. The annual celebration of the River Thames returns with a month-long creative and diverse programme taking place along the river, all created by artists and local communities.
Highlights include The Great River Race where a flotilla of traditional boats will be tearing it up from Millwall to Ham, Inua Ellams’ Rhythm and Poetry Party where contemporary poets and spoken word artists will be performing aboard the Dixie Queen boat, and, our favourite, Subterranean Sounds, featuring concerts in the extraordinary Bascule Chamber beneath Tower Bridge. There’s lots more on their website so head down to the river and make the most of a stellar line-up this month.
