For a cocktail project this high concept, Trash Tiki is keeping things pretty low brow. It’s understandable when you’re drinks are garbage – literally! Yes, all the drinks served at this launch party (that promises to be so huge it’s spread over two nights) will be made from off cuts, unsold products and other raw materials from nearby food businesses. You’re in safe hands, though: two award-winning bartenders who saw how much waste restaurants and bars generated decided to address the need for sustainability by creating these pop-up cocktail events. It promises to be a little bit punk, a little bit sexy and 100% eco-friendly. Head down to Fanny Nelsons near Columbia Rd on Sunday or Monday night to experience a ‘Trash Tai’, made from… well, best you don’t know but it will be served long and be as tasty as all hell.
