If you aren’t already based in a WeWork, you will have noticed their expansion across London (the UK and the globe). The collaborative workspace company has skyrocketed into existence over the last few years making a great base for creatives, small companies, or big companies with multiple offices across key cities around the world.
To foster and demonstrate a commitment to the creative industries and start-ups, WeWork has just announced they are giving away $1.5m to UK-based entrepreneurs and $20 million globally. The funding prizes are divided out into three different categories, to ensure businesses at different stages are considered: incubate, launch and scale. More detail on the site, where you can enter your company right now and learn more about the programme. Shortlisted businesses will be invited to a London event and asked to present their case to a panel of experts.
To add to this amazing opportunity, WeWork will be hosting a number of events to educate and inspire on creativity and entrepreneurship across food, fashion, technology, and media. These events, which will host TED style talks and Q&A sessions, kicked off in Leeds this week and will also pop up in Manchester, Cambridge, London and Dublin. Check out this site to get your hands on some free tickets.
We think this is a great initiative and really commend WeWork for putting the programme together. Apply or nominate today: creatorawards.wework.com.
