Cosy Italian wine bar BOTTLES has added another string to its bow with the introduction of a food menu collab with pop-uppers Sood Family, who are offering up a small but refined selection of modern Italian dishes to go alongside the delicious booze in-house. It’s the kind of place that takes both food and wine seriously, without taking itself too seriously – its casual, relaxed and full of atmosphere.
The food includes a teeny brunch menu – a fried egg sandwich roasted garlic and chilli mayo, oak smoked salmon and avocado on toast with orange hollandaise – but if you’re after something more substantial, the pasta will hit the spot. I had the handmade spaghetti all’ amatriciana with crispy guanciale & pecorino, which for the layman, is spaghetti with crispy bacon and a parmesan-adjacent cheese, and it was very, very tasty.
