It’s true that Turkish eateries are ten a penny in Harringay, but none have quite the allure or reputation as Gokyuzu. A short stroll from Manor House tube, this fairly sizeable eatery seems to specialise in belly-busting mixed grills. Lamb shish, chicken shish, lamb ribs, chicken wings and doner all come on a large plate with deliciously prepared bulgur and rice. The décor is a touch better than some of the places in Dalston, but it’s not as if we go there for that, is it now. The service can be a little slow during busier periods, but if you’re not in a rush then it’s a great place to share a platter with some friends. Be warned, it is a popular place, and you may need to queue a little before getting a table, but trust me, it’s worth it. / Firas
