Much like Violet Kray’s unconditional love for her errant twins, Mr Paul A Young – the undisputed guv’nor of the chocolate game, can do no wrong in my eyes. And this, the flagship store, proudly perched on a prime Wardour Street location, is his glory moment. Throughout the year, stunning new seasonal flavours are unleashed upon us and whilst some of his rivals get quirky for the hell of it, PAY’s creations are short on novelty factor, high on the consistent quality mark. With ingredients sourced from a local Italian deli, the tomato, olive oil and basil flavour is remarkable; the orange and tarragon is equally supreme and all new concoctions, alongside established favourites, boast the same exquisite subtleties that have made this man what he is.
