Searcys St Pancras Grand, set under the vast arches of St Pancras International station, is setting out its stake to become more than just a pre-train boozer for the upper tiers of society. With an impressive menu that encompasses authentic (from Champagne) champagne and a host of small-batch English sparkling wines, some seriously fancy bar snacks (the mini burgers are bloody fantastic) and prime people-watching vantage point from a peaceful, heated booth overlooking the arrivals hall, there is more than enough to merit a journey in from buzzier-by-the-minute King’s Cross. Like its neighbour The Booking Office, its interior (though this takes you away from buzz of the station) is attached to the stunning red-brick Renaissance Hotel, and thus in suitably grand company.
