You’d be forgiven for not having heard of it. Expect no signs outside or a massive ad campaign announcing its arrival. The vibe is deliberately low key. But when you get inside, that’s where the discretion stops. Dim lighting and rich, opulent fabrics give this speakeasy-esque bar an immediate air of decadence. The cocktails are presented in unique and surprising ways – our first in a glass bird swinging from a bird cage. Indian-style tapas is light and full of flavour, and perfectly compliments the drinks. Perhaps the best little hidden extra? A secret roof garden with a glass floor looking down to the restaurant below. Vijay’s is lovely hidden spot but hurry, it won’t stay a secret for long.
